Note

The orientation of the daughter board antenna should align with the silkscreen direction of the evaluation board antenna to avoid incorrect connection.

Power

The RTL8752H evaluation board supports power supply via USB, Li-ion Battery, or coin cell CR2032.

When using USB or Li-ion Battery for power supply, you can choose either 3.3V or 2.5V as the power supply for the EVB daughter board, where 2.5V is generally used for powering during eFuse programming. The power supply connection is as follows:

Voltage Selection When Using USB or Lithium Battery

When using the CR2032 coin cell for power supply, it directly powers the EVB daughter board. The power supply connection is as follows:

EVB Interfaces

UART/LOG Test Interface
Download Mode:

LOG needs to be pulled low, press reset button to reboot (or power cycle) to enter download mode.

Normal Mode:

LOG needs to be floating, press reset button to reboot (or power cycle) to start running the program. Alternatively, connect LOG to RX and use Debug Analyzer for debugging via the USB port CON1.

Red LED Module

Red LED module can be connected to the pin header within the red box through jumpers, allowing the default GPIO to control the LEDs. Alternatively, you can use dupont wires to connect the pin header on the right side of the red box to any GPIO for controlling the LEDs.

EVB User Guide

EVB Power Connection

When the RTL8752H evaluation board is powered by USB or Li-ion Battery, you can choose 3.3V or 2.5V as the power supply for the EVB board. The power supply connection diagram is as follows, all jumpers marked with red boxes need to be connected.

Download Mode Connection

M0_3 (LOG) is the selection pin for download mode, after pulling M0_3 low, the hardware will reset or power on again to enter download mode.

  1. Connect M3_0 to RX and M3_1 to TX using jumpers.

  2. Pull M0_3 (LOG) low with a Dupont wire.

  3. Reset the hardware or power on again to enter download mode.

  4. After the program is downloaded successfully, restore M0_3 (LOG) to floating state.

  5. Reset the hardware or power on again, and the program will run normally.

Normal Mode Connection

Please confirm M0_3 (LOG) is restored to floating state, at this point, you can connect the jumper in the red box of the figure below, M0_3 (LOG) connects to RX, and M3_0 and M3_1 are disconnected from RX and TX respectively. Use Debug Analyzer for debugging via the USB port CON1.

Six-Axis Motion Sensor

The power for the six-axis motion sensor is supplied by VDD_DEV, so when using this module, jumper J6 needs to be connected.

If using the I2C interface, connect jumpers J18 and J19, respectively connecting SDA to M3_3 and SCL to M3_2. By default, INT can be connected to M2_2 through J20. If INT is not configured, it can be left unconnected.

Six-Axis Motion Sensor Using I2C Interface Connection

If using the SPI interface, R1 needs to be removed. Extract SDO and nCS from test points AD0 and nCS respectively, flying them to the specified GPIO. Then connect jumpers J18 and J19.

IC Power Consumption Test

The evaluation board reserves IC power measurement points. When measuring power consumption, disconnect J23 and then connect an ammeter in series to measure the current passing through J23.

  • VDD_DEV is the power supply for the peripherals of the evaluation board.

  • VDD_BAT is the power supply for the VBAT and HVD of the evaluation board.

  • VDD_IO is the power supply for the VDD_IO of the RTL8752H chip. (Some packages do not have separate VDD_IO pin)

../../_images/EVB_Power_test.jpg

IC power consumption measurement

Note

  1. LOG printing needs to be turned off to avoid additional power consumption.

  2. To avoid the impact of debugging devices, please do not connect UART, SWD, and debuggers.

  3. When using an external DC power supply, the J23 jumper needs to be removed and then connected externally to J23.

RF Test

  1. Download RF test image.

  2. The two jumpers marked in red need to be connected, allowing M0_3 to return to a floating state, M3_0 connected to RX, and M3_1 connected to TX.

  3. Use the RF test tool to conduct Bluetooth/Zigbee and other RF tests via the USB port CON1.
